If child benefit is counted as income

If child benefit is counted as income can I count my son as an expenditure? His needs were not taken into account last year I would like to know what I can count as expenditure for him as child benefit is not my income it is meant to be used on him.
Plus I have received a letter from IVA council shhould I forward this on to my ip

Does your child have any particular special needs that he may need extra things for?

As for the letter from the IVA council, all they do is assist you to declare bankruptcy when you could quite easily do it yourself without having to pay them a fee.

If you are happy enough with your IVA and you have a home or posessions that may be at risk under bankruptcy, then i would just suggest you file it....in the bin

Hi Lesley

When my IVA was being set up expenses for my daughter who was then living at home and still in full time education were all allowed for ... school meals, uniform and all the associated costs of having a child.

The child benefit does need to be included in your income - but of course you must put down expenditure which you incur such as described above by Debbie.
