I went BR last April and the OR has allowed me to keep my car and normal household items (I'm self employed) but long standing problems with depression has affected my job. I am currently working much more than I should be (advice from GP) simply to get some debts under control (rent, utility etc) therefore my bank a/cs are showing more and naturally the OR is going to be considering slapping a payment order on me. This will be the death of me (probably literally) as I cannot work on this scale for much longer. I had a letter re early discharge, then another requesting more bank account statements and a new expenditure form so it doesn't look good. I was unemployed at the time of my bankruptcy, due to my health problems. Help please, I am so worried

Hi
Firstly I would advise you to have a chat with your GP about the whole situation and see if he still agrees with you working long hours now that your debts are under control.
The OR will only take a proportion of your disposible income and seem to be very fair in what they allow. The payment order,if made, will not affect your discharge from bankruptcy.

I dont really know what to say except you are not alone. I would also ask you to visit the GP as it sounds like you are totally stressed out and exhausted. You could try to write to the OR and explain everything that is going including trying to get straight with priority debts, and why the income is temporarily inflated.

At the end of the day steffie, you are more important than money, priceless and precious to your loved ones. No amount of money is worth your life, I realise its not easy to put this in a post and the very fact you have is of concern.

Every problem has a solution and there will be one for you without it meaning the end of your life.

The problems here seems to be one of communication, I am sure if you can make your OR understand s/he will be understanding.

You are amongst friends, we know what youre going through, any time you need a rant, rave or feel at the end of your tether, someone will answer.

Dont give up

steffie the new i+e form is normal, they send it out after 3-6 months if they are considering ED, it is so they can finalise and close your case i really don't think you have anything to worry about, i received mine after 3 months BR and today found out i have been discharged, i hope you have filled it in and sent it back in the time scale allowed so that they may consider you for ED otherwise they won't keep your chin up, it may not be as bad as you feel, it will also be a chance for you to show why you are working more and that your outgoings have changed to keep up with priority payments.

Many thanks for the replies to my post, which are much appreciated. I have replied quickly to the OR, enclosed new bank statements and a full letter explaining the situation in detail. I am anxiously awaiting now whether its good or bad news!
