Hello All

Many thanks for all your answers to my question last week on payment breaks with our IVA for our forced house move. We rang Accuma and have arranged a break this month which helps enormously.

Another small query, as we are moving to a new house, we will need to set up a new BT line for access to broadband which we will need for my husbands job as he will need to work from a home base. I think I read somewhere that BT will not allow you to set this up in an IVA and what about Electric and so on.............will you have to have a meter?

All comments would be appreciated.

Hi
I don,t think that you will have a problem with the electric as far as I,m aware.
I can,t give you an answer on BT i,m afraid but would imagine that at the worst you can go on the pay and call scheme[a little like pay as you go]
Please let this forum know how you get on .

Hi all

Just rang BT and anyone in an IVA can have a line with broadband if they pay £50 upfront which is refunded at the end of 12 months of service together with interest!!!

Hi, I'm not sure if you already have a BT line at your old house but I'm in an IVA and I moved house recently to a brand new house. I already had a BT account and so when I moved they just arranged for the BT line to be installed (at a cost of £125, not because of the IVA this is just the new line charge) and my account carried on as normal.

Hi all
Hi all

You are both right about the existing line but we are with Virgin Media at the moment and they do not have cable where we are moving. So this is in effect a new account.
