[:(]
Crappy day.
Brief explanation for those not familiar with my situation.
I went BR 3 weeks ago, had my phone interview etc, and will be paying £80 per month for 3 years - IPA .
Anyway I have a car , which I am allowed to keep, and had a motorbike .. it was collected to-day, that was not a nice feeling.

The worst part is my 14 yr old ( Im a single dad ), she's been really upset since the bike was collected, she said that she knows that Ive had my bike a long time and that 'dads' thing , dads only thing. I dont go out, and spend any money I have on her, my only 'free'time is when I go out on my bike. She's distaught ... and is blaming her mum, and herself , I guess the BR has just hit her. Shes also upset because we will lose the house.. where are we going to live etc ..
Unfortunately she told her 'best' mate about the BR, best mate has now told all her other mates that we are going to get chucked out of the house .. like everything else it gets worse in the telling and it came back to my daughter that everyone is saying that Im going to jail and daughter to social services.. kids are soo cruel.

I have sat her down and gone over it all, they only tricky bit is the house as the 'examiner' said that the OR wont look at it for 3 years.. I need to get that clarified.

Dont ever, ever let anyone tell you that going BR is an easy option, right now if feels b***** hard. I hate seeing my bairn like this.

OMG I need a whisky !

It must be awful for you and your daughter Mish. As you say kids can be cruel, but I'm sure they will soon be talking about who is going out who, or what is happening on Big Brother (or whatever the current favourite programme is!).

Sorry I can't help you with the house questions, but hopefully one of the experts will be able to advise you.

Things will get better x

Sorry about your day, I thought mine was bad enough. Keep your chin up, it will get better I am sure, just keep your daughter in loop and make sure you let her know every step, otherwise their mindds tend to start working overtime, it has made a huge difference with my daughter.

Mish

Just wanted to say, sorry you are having such a crappy day. You should be so proud of yourself as a Dad, you have done an excellent job with her, she is thinking of you, she is unselfish and caring. I know its hard to see her upset, but what wonderful qualities she has and all thanks to you.

Bless you both.

Hamish

Your post serves to compare the dark side of bankruptcy compared to the rosy picture it can sometimes seem. It is rarely a pleasant experience for people with assets at risk, and never an easy option to take.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. You are testament that Bankruptcy is not an easy option and it is important that people are made aware of the harsh realities of it!

Keep focusing on the light at the end of the tunnel.
