So glad he's going to be ok.

I wouldn't have a pet now without insurance having had a dog which cost a fortune some years ago - thankfully insured! I'd skimp on something else before cancelling that.

We pay the same per month for dog insurance as we do for our own insurance and critical health cover!!!

As our cats hadnt been to the vet for 14 years our insurance wouldnt cover the cost of Smegs dental problem. They said that she should have had a dental check up every year to keep the insurance valid.

Plenty cuddles for our hound, many thanks. He seems very quiet and is grumbling away when he gets up but walking is massively improved on yesterday. Drinking fine but not keen on eating his dried food(fast enough to eat the ham slices I gave him,and his biscuit treats!!!)

Took him for a short wander and he did the business(dont want to get too graphic!!),even managed to cock his leg!!!

A night or 5 sleeping on the sofa for me as hound isnt allowed to do stairs and usually sleeps on the floor next to our bed,so that should be interesting!!!

Back to vets on friday or monday if he improves a lot in the next 24 hours.

Bill to date £238,of which we are due to pay £90 excess. Vets are billing petplan direct then will send us an invoice for the excess so I didnt even have to pay anything at all today.

Fingers still crossed for a good recovery!

Thats me snuggled down on the fold down sofa bed in a cozy sleeping bag with the dog right beside me. All settled and hoping for gradual improvements over the next few days!!

Thank god for pet insurance!
One of my daughters horses has a tendon injury and has had to have scans and 2 lots of shockwave therapy so far......Bill to date is £419 with another bill on the way and more scans and shockwave in 6 weeks.
Petplan said there are no restrictions so no reason they shouldnt pay out.
Fingers crossed!

Bless him Paul - sounds as though he is on the mend! Don't envy you the nights on the camp bed though!
