Hi Olydak,
I did consider Aqua but haven't heard of anyone on here getting one, therefore I was more worried I would get turned down whereas Vanquis do seem to approve people with IVA's and defaults still on their credit file (and still in IVAs!!!).
I intend to use it frequently but pay it off evey month to build up my credit file, that's if I get approved so APR not an issue. Not heard anything yet.
IVA finished Oct 2011, CC received 27 April 2012, No longer on Insolvency Register 01 May 2012. Jan 2013 - all Credit Files squeaky clean

Hi all,
I have had a phone call and been approved. Not sure what my credit limit is as the girl I spoke to spoke quite quietly so might have missed it. She said I would get a welcome pack with my card which will arrive within 14 days. One step forward......

Congratulations... my first credit limit was £500.00, now have a limit of £1,000.00 which is more than enough as I pay it off every month anyway.

I'd have thought it unlikely they would consider an application for anyone still under the terms of a IVA. I wouldn't have thought that an IP would agree to them having one either.

There was someone on here that has said recently that they applied for a Vanquis card and got approved and that they are still in an IVA!

Think I have read in the past where in exceptional circumstances, IP's have allowed their clients credit of up to £500. As Vanquis seem to give new clients a £500 credit limit to start off with, maybe there is a connection... albeit a little tenuous.

The Matrix,
I completed my iva so thought i could have a vanquis card, i applied and was accepted, the the card arrived with a £750 limit, in the meantime i discovered without a cc the iva was at risk of failing so i promptly cut it up and closed the account. I shall apply again when i receive my cc.
Regards David.

This blows the myth I have described above right out of the water.... at least that's cleared up now for everyone to see.

The credit limit will differ based on individual circumstances and what score you get from the card company and what your history is like with other lenders from your credit file.
Responsible lenders will now also take into account your level of available credit and what you owe elsewhere and look at what you have as disposable income and take on board your income and expenditure.

The person who posted on here who was still in an IVA and had a Vanquis card alluded to the fact that their IP didn't know they had one and that they knew it was wrong!!! I will be interested to see what my credit limit will be. I had 8 creditors (still viewable on credit file), my debt was approx £63K I earn £45K and Vanquis did not ask my monthly expenditure!! Vanquis said it could take up to 14 days to arrive, so will let you know when I get it.

I suppose that it's down to the creditors risk assessment whether to accept or not.
I'd have a guess your initial credit limit will be around £500 to start.
