Are you going to do something special on the Valentines Day? Do you normally get presents?

Not a thing! We don't do Valentines Day at all, our wedding anniversary is the day before as well and we don't bother with that either.

It's just a normal day for us (and the three dogs!) What dogs do you have ginger?

We have a Jack Russell (16 months old), a Lurcher (6 years old or thereabouts) and a Heinz57 with some staffie in him (5 years old), all rescue dogs.

They sound lovely. Ours go from very small to quite large!

It's a big ripoff as far as we are concerned - everything is overpriced and we don't do big romantic gestures at anytime of year!

Next year will be our silver wedding anniversary and I doubt we will do anything different at all!

We just buy a card and I'll cook a nice meal. No presents these days, I might just buy/make a card for the kids this year as they love that!

We did used to but it would be a CD rather than flowers or chocolates.

Cards cost too much as well and I'm afraid neither of us is very romantic.

The last time that my hubby bought me flowers was 18th December 1992!

Simple things cost very little if nothing, if you're inclined to do something to mark the day. A heart drawn on the kitchen roll in the packed lunch or a message written in the steam on the mirror (although you might get in trouble for marking the mirror!).

as with all these things they can become too commercialised and be about the money rather than the sentiment.

If either or us did that then the other one would think that we had lost the plot or done something we shouldn't have![:D][:D]
