Hi all, been a busy second part of my week with some good sleep being had.
But I thought I'd letter you all know the current status, about the week before my IVA and when I knew my creditors meeting date I provided the information to the calls I did receive, this pretty much stopped the calls (as I've said on previous posts)

Then on the morning of my creditors meeting MBNA called and the nice guy read the notes and wished me luck... turns out MBNA didn't vote!

So I got my approval and since then I have not had a single call or letter, I know it's early days but I am amazed that it ended so quickly, maybe I'm just lucky or maybe they will bombard me in the coming weeks. Eitherway I'm prepared with what to say to them now so I'm happy.
Approved 3rd June 2009 first payment made on the day.
Offer made and settled - happy days

That's good news.

I only had one call on the day of my approval from Mercers - and have had no creditor phone calls since.

Isn't it wonderful to be able to answer the phone without worrying who is on the other end.

No phone calls, and no letters - it's brilliant.

Hi,

Hope you don't mind me answering.

Your payments are decided on your disposable income, so yours may be different to tele2002. They are individual, so no two are the same.

Creditors won't ask you anything about your IVA. All calls you have are from call centres who are only interested in trying to get money out of you. Most of them don't know what an IVA is, and they will tell you that they won't accept the IVA. Ignore them.

Team,
Some of my creditors phoned me once i had told the call centre that i was going through with an IVA. I just told them the company name and if they needed further information, then contact them. Most of my creditors left me alone after that.

Mine didn't - we sent the letters and Payplan also sent them, and we still continued to get phone calls.

Hi Team, yes as Jan stated it would be different based on your disposable income, mine ended up being a little more than a 25k loan would be over 5 years and everything in my proposal was pretty standard, I did also have child support in there for the child I'm about to have.

As you have seen this forum is invaluable for support and asking questions on topics you may have, so ask anything and we will all share our experiences.

Regarding the call centers question, some will ask how or why you are going for an IVA, my answer was always that it will be outlined in my IVA proposal as to the reasons. I didn't ever pay any token payments either and I was (by the end) 3 months behind on my payments, yet as you can see I had mine approved.

One tip, never call them back if you get a message to do so, I had the mistake once and got the rudest woman I encountered over all the calls.

If you receive any letters that say someone is coming around or they have applied for a court order then get onto your IP straight away.

In the beginning the calls really did bring me down, but this forum and the tips I gathered here helped me through.

So good luck.
