We physically cannot draw out the amount we will get paid in via the cash machine - makes it sound like a fortune. It's not I can assure you lol. I would make other half do it but he works late so the bank will be closed. I have a severe issue with my conscience-I feel like I'm committing a crime, stupid I know.

Glad to see we are all in the same boat, doing the same things, I know it gives me confidence. [:)]

Marie

Please don't worry about calling me at the office - I would rather that you called me once a day to let me know that things are OK and to deal with any queries you might have, than think of you sitting distressed at home.

Get the girls to give you my mobile and home office number - where I spend most of my evenings. You may feel more like calling during the evening and that is absolutely no problem at all. Trust me you will get stronger throughout this process, and the support that you get from all of your forum friends will go a long way to help with this.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

honestly hun - this debt thing just gets us all into such a state but honestly the halifax never questioned a thing. say i had 12 direct debits i rang one day and cancelled four of them, the next da.
y cancelled another 4 and the next day the remainder.each time i got a different advisor and they did not bat an eyelid. as for you drawing your money out, the cashier wont know why, for all she knows you could be paying a tradesman cash for a job he has done for you and you could be paying funds in a couple of days later - they really wont question it! as far as your loan is concerned, you cant cancel that if its with your old bank but just let it go overdrawn by that amount, eventually they will ring you and by which time you will be well into applying for an iva and just tell them that on the phone then

hope this helps - and remember there will be a way forward on this - just make that call

love barb x

You're taking hold of the situation and entering into an iva to repay what you can of your debts. I think that is admirable. Don't beat yourself up about it, don't feel guilty, hopefully it will all be sorted, you just need to get through this hard bit. X

Just go in and draw the money out and there should be no questions as paul says the money is yours.Cancel the debits online if you can. We had some money paid in and hubby had to go midnight as soon as it went in to stop it going out. I know what you mean he said he felt like a criminal grabbing it like that. But whilst the iva is being set up you need money to survive on and also to get your money ready hopefully for your iva payment so it is necessary to have a little backing.

Thank you to everyone for being so nice, I have come to realise that people do care and I don't have to fight this battle on my own. XX

Melanie I will ring Angela tomorrow after 3.30 and get your numbers etc. If it is ok then I will ring when we are both home - Other half is more level headed and you will get more sense from him.

Thank you I appreciate your responses on a Sunday evening!

Your lucky then Melanie - He is totally BANNED from the iron. When I was in hospital after having our child he tried ironing a shirt and iron more creases in it! I coulod n't wash the creases out or iron them out - the shirt had to be binned. Totally rubbish, he does help do everything else though.

Barb when out of our predicament maybe we could afford to pay somebody with our own money to do it lol.
