Simbel I have re-read my posts after reading your problems with MBNA and recall this call I had with them at an early onset of my IVA:

14 Oct 09
"Just received correspondance from MBNA on behalf of my Virgin Credit Card stating they were aware of my seeking an IVA and wished to speak to me.

I telephoned the MBNA Insolvency Team and have to admit they were much more understanding and sympathetic to my situation then I expected would be the case. They also advised that in my current situation they would be more inclined to "support" my IVA application then to look at a DMP or other plan that they may be able to offer.

They also advised that it may be best for me to speak to ALL my creditors, explain the situation and see how they felt in regards to an IVA proposal, as although not cast in stone, it would give me a general idea on how the creditors would be voting.

All in all a very good conversation and all they expected is that I keep them up to speed with how my proposal is processing."

Anyway to cut a long story short Simbel the woman I spoke to was one of a small number 3/4 if I recall rightly of the "Insolvancy Team" at MBNA and she was fantastic and very understanding. I cannot recall her number but I will try and dig it out from past correspondance and get it to you somehow. I am sure she would be "appalled" at the way you have been "scared" by these call centre tactics.

Anyway have a great Xmas...I will add you as a Frugal Friend so that I can send you her name and tel no.
I came into this world with nothing and still have most of it left!

Hello everyone - hope you are all having a lovely Christmas day. My husband and I managed to calm down yesterday after he had unplugged the phone and we have had a very nice day today with the children. We have taken everyone's advice and put this call down to scare mongery (certain people will stoop to a very low level to achieve their goal or a last minute payment).

Four days to go to our creditors meeting and we know we are in very good hands with Size5 and ClearDebt.

Thank you pennyless - I will take you up on your offer if they call again next week.

Thanks to everyone on this forum for your support - hoping everyone has continuation of a wonderful Christmas Day xx[8)]

Glad you've had a fantastic day Simbel.

Don't worry about the calls now, you've not long to go.
