Hi My name is June, I live with my hisband and my 15 month old little girl, i have now found myself in about £15000 worth of debt, and unfortunalty i dont know how to fix the problem, I put my details on the internet and am now getting bombarded with phone calls with people offering me IVAs to debt managment, i dont want to lose my house as i need this for my little girl. Before things get worse i need to take a stand and fix my problem but need advise and need someone i can trust to guide me. Please help.
Sorry to hear about your problems, and the hassle you are having. An IVA all depends on affordability and the amount of disposable income after your priority bills have been paid. How many creditors do you have? You could also consider a debt management plan.
I think you need to seek some professional advice. Visit www.iva.com for a list of companies and reviews. Give one or two a ring and you will receive free and impartial advice as to all the options open to you and the best way forward for your circumstances.

With relatively low debts, a debt management plan might be the best option, and you could do no worse than contact the forum's own Andy Davie who is a very experienced debt advisor.
If the debts are an even split at 15000 then a DMP may suit, but if all debt is in one parties name then an IVA MAY be an option. Best to take professional advice, speak to an IP firm for all your options by visiting www.iva.com reading all the reviews etc amd then going from there. With a young family that must be your first priority, at least knowing that there is help out there will be a great comfort to you hopefully.
Regards.

Some time needs to be spent with an expert discussing your situation and debt solutions and then what options are available to you and their impact.
Be prepared with details of you income and expenditure, your assets and liabilities which will reduce the time you have to spend discussing these things.
I'm sure once you have spoken to one or two of the companies posting on here, you'll feel more settled about what you need to do.

Welcome to the forum June. When you say that YOU find yourself in 15k of debt do you mean you and your Hubby? Does he know about the debts? Quite often people turn to the forum when partners arent aware of the situation.
Let us know more about your debts and mortgage and equity details(amounts)(if any these days!!)
