I have tried this, you have to first complain to the company concerned they will then tell you that you must have done a survey some time ago giving permission to be contacted, of course you will have done no such survey, but that is line they will use they will also tell you that you will no longer be contacted, but in reality you will be, the person you just spoke with is already trying to ring another they will not bother registering your wishes

Sadly most of the phone calls are automated now. I had great fun with someone who called me - I kept him on the phone for ages asking him where he got my details, who he worked for and what debt solutions he had for me. He was extremely unhappy when I finally told him I didn't actually have any debts! I know people have to make a living but I didn't feel any guilt whatsoever about wasting the idiot's time!

Yes, two times during the IVA and again after completion. Though what evidence I have of that now is confined to the shredder.

I am so pleased that TheMatrix has commented, I have taken a lot of guidance from this poster re cleaning up credit files and all spot on and a valuable poster to others.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Unlike many on this site, I was actually quite tempted by Tyler's offer. Firstly they pointed out the Equifax notice of correction issue (OK I'd already sorted that out myself, but for someone unaware of this it's quite useful informtion). I do see their point that not everyone has access to this forum. Obviously they are out to make money but it seems to me they are offering a potentially useful service for a very cheap amount, regardless of whether you take them up on the PPI thing (which would obviously be crazy as it's so easy to do yourself).

I feel capable of contacting the creditors myself, but I spent 10 minutes phoning 1, probably cost about as much as 8 stamps as it was on a mobile. Yes I could send letters but I'm impatient, and actually pretty busy so I still haven't got around to doing it after a month or two from completion cert.

I'll probably do it myself because although it's a chore, I don't like waiting for others to sort stuff out, and I don't like the idea of having to get a printed copy rather than doing it all electronically, but realistically it'll take me at least a couple of hours to sort this out and get the correct addresses etc and it would be worth quite a lot to save myself the time.

Sorry to be kind of disagreeing with most people here, there are valid points made, but I guess the bottom line is are they offering something useful and I think they might be for some.

Having said all that, their lousy attitude about not posting on this forum because Melanie made them cry, means I no longer have any temptation to send anything to them other than as a last resort.

It was never my intention to score points against this firm, on face value they do offer a very good, and extremely cheap, service which I am happy to recommend to my clients. Bit concerned about the person who says they were targeted three times, however, as I am sure their representative confirmed on the forum that they only ever make one contact from their insolvency register database trawl.
