Thanks Chris. I just have the bog standard cash card with Nationwide so not sure if you can use this abroad but if anyone on here has the same account I would appreciate your thoughts

It may not work then, why not get in touch with Nationwide or check out their website. I've had a quick look on the cashcard account and it states that it's a visa card. If that's the case it should be able to be used abroad AND Nationwide don't charge you for using it abroad.

Sorry I read it wrong!!!! DOH!!! It states it doesn't give you a Visa card!!! Sorry....[:I]
I would contact them to ask, if not, you could always get a pre-paid card to use while abroad.
