Hi,
We have been in our IVA for over a year, and I posted a similar thread a while ago.
My husband got a letter from IVA Watchdog, saying about our IVA and all these questions etc.
I told him to bin it, but no, he went and rang them - and they have told him that we are paying way too much and that we could pay less etc.
They told him that they are Government run firm, they are not a company out to make money etc.
They said that we wouldn't have to start the IVA again - as we have been in it a year.
They now want out mortgage and loan figure and I know they are going to get him to try and change or whatever.
We are with McCambridge Duffy and they knew that - I know that Michael posts on here, so I am hoping he can come on and put an explanation so I can show my husband.
I keep saying we are paying what we should - but this girl has told him that she can't believe we pay so much and never has she seen such a high figure....and that she can't believe a review would make it even higher if need be.
Please, please, please can someone or many of you just let me know that I am right and we are fine in our IVA and that we should ignore these people!
Trouble is dh is adamant he will speak to them later (they are ringing back at 7) - with some figures and he will change our IVA if she advises him to!!!!!
Kath....who is so annoyed that thes letters bring it all up again!!!

IGNORE these people, they are only out to make money from you. They don't care about you or your IVA.

If you are going along fine with it, then do so.

You can't change your IVA. Once you are in it, you are legally bound. Unless you fail it, then it will continue for the full five years.

I doubt you are paying any higher than a lot of people on here, this girl will say that as she is trying to con you.

You would have to start your IVA again, there is no other way round it and I really don't see where they are coming from there. The only other options for you if you fail it are a DMP or bankruptcy.

You are right, 100%. I will repeat myself again, you cannot change your IVA once started unless you do a very expensive court case and you would need a good reason to do so.

If it were me, I'd get to the phone first and speak two words, the second of which would be 'off'.

These people want putting up against a wall and shooting!

Forgot to say that they are nothing at all to do with the government.

Reading your post again, I reckon they are going to try and get you to remortgage, which would end up with you going further into debt.

Don't entertain these people - they are tricksters and not worth the breathe - stick with your IVA and stick to your guns - do not agree to anything !

Ignore the phone at 7pm[;)]

If you are happy with your IVA payment and the service you are getting from McCambridge Duffy, then ignore these ambulance chasers[:)]
Be positive & look after yourself, there are more important things in life than debts....

Best Wishes

You need to ask how much they are going to charge as well.

Let us know what they say.

Well, your replies seemed to do the trick (not that he'd ever admit that!).
They phoned back and he said he didn't want to take it any further - he said he actually didn't understand a word she said.........thank god eh!
So panic over....until the next letter comes and he believes that too!
Thanks again for all your replies - dont; know what we'd do without this board eh!

Thank goodness he saw sense! You are much better off with your IVA than getting mixed up with these chancers.

Just tell him that all letters like this he receives should be used as loo paper!

Any other problems, come on here again and we'll help you out.

David, Lesley had a copy of one of those scanned on to her computer to send to you on Sunday, but you said you knew all about them!

It was the thread entitled 'The New IVA Council' and it was talking about the IVA watchdog and the new poster actually scanned a copy of the letter on, but it had to be removed as not allowed.

I'll email Lesley and see if she's still got it. OK to give her your email if she has and it is the IVA Watchdog?
