Hi again, had a word with the big boss and found out that my job now will be made redundant next month, The new position can only offer me 21 hours a week contract which means i will be on £6000 less per year
She has told me they can temporarily till sept/oct give me full time hours which will be £600 more then i am originally earning so i am ok till sept/oct as i will be covering maternity leave, but my contracted hours will be 21. What kind of effect will this have on my IVA? is it doomed to fail at the end of the year? i really do no know what to do, i was only accepted on 25th march. They have got rid of quite a few staff due to our 2 hull offices merging so i guess i am luckier then some but feel doomed also. They will be putting the redundancy and new offer in writing soon.

i really dont know what to do and i am panicking, it s true what they say 'you dont know whats round the corner but i really thought my life was finally getting sorted, obviously not what do you think my IP will say? Should i wait till my letter arrives before i call them?

Hey Worryhead, I can't answer your question but just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you. What a pain all this is eh? I'm sure something will be sorted for you, wait for an expert to answer. Viki X

Don't panic just yet, have a chat with your IP asap and discuss the implications of this..

Sorry to hear this news, it's really not what you need right now
Best wishes

Thanks Emma, i will have to make that call tomorrow, it just makes me feel awful because you tell them you can afford to pay this much to your creditors every month no problem, then BANG not for long [:(] I just feel awful because i have only paid 1 month so far.

I am not entitled to redundancy pay, this is why they have offered my a part time job in another department for 21 hours, so technically i am still employed just earning £6000 less :(
Will My IP make me look for full time work? I really like the company i work for and even though its part time its a job i have wanted for two years. I just want to leave

Well i called my IP company today and told them what was happening, they said i dont worry about it until i go part time in Sept/oct, they may then have to do a var meeting and extend my IVA a couple of years :( gutted, i really wanted this to be over in 5 years, if i had known what was happening before i started my IVA i would have gone bankrupt to be honest, it would have been less hassle as i have no assets, i just wanted to pay back something and now with my life changing the way it is i feel i am getting punished :( guess i will just have to carry on and worry about what will happen when i cant afford to pay anymore, i just dont want it to fail 6 months down the line. I know things change as this has proved, but what if nothing improves. I feel i wanna scream :(

Just try to take one day at a time, you don't know what the future will bring. I'm glad you called them, might not be the news you wanted but hang on in there. Viki x

Hey worryhead,

I kinda know how you feel. THere are times when i wish i did BR instead and "got it over with" so to speak.

I too wanted to pay back all i could, had no assets etc but sadly couldn't as I work in IT and will probably contract via my own Ltd comapny, something i couldnt do in bankruptcy, not to mention my security clearance would be cancelled on the spot.

As Viki W says, hang in there, hopefully it will all work out hey :o)
