I have opened a current account with Abbey. Unlike Natwest and Nationwide, it was simple and quick. And they've even given me a Visa Electron card so I can go into a shop and make purchases without carrying wads of cash! I'm so happy. After Nationwide refused me and this lunchtime I waited for 1h 40 mins in Natwest before the computer crashed, I thought it was never going to happen! I know this is a very small step but for me it feels like I'm finally doing something to get this mess sorted. Thanks for all your advice and support - it's really helped. Just the small matter of getting the DMP arranged now!

Hi
Glad to hear you are feeling happier. Like you I am in the early stages of trying to sort things out but feel alot more positive just by doing this. Hope things work out for you.

I know what you mean - just talking to people on here has helped so much. I no longer feel like I'm going mad, or that I'm alone. But being on this forum is very addictive!

Iknow what you mean I must have read every post trying to find as much information as I can. Never been on the computer so much - think my husband thinks I must be on some dodgy website LOL but it's amazing how much I've learnt about things and how encouraging everyone is on here.

Hello,

Lonely - I'm glad that everything is now sorted out with your bank account; it is another hurdle that you have now jumped over.

I’m glad that both you and sps have found this forum helpful, you would be surprised how many people are actually in the same debt situation as yourselves. At least you have faced up to your problem and are doing something about it.

Hope this information is of use
