Just decided to go for it and apply for the vanquis card to help rebuild the credit rating. I will let everyone know how the application goes.

Oh and just reduced my home insurance from £329(buildings and contents),to £155(now with shielas wheels),

and we got a free meerkat toy!!![:D]

Happy days.

Fingers crossed for the card Paul and good news for the insurance.

Ours is way more expensive than that but we have made a few claims in the past three years and we have no excess so I'm quite happy to stick with them.

By the sounds of it vanquis will phone to complete the application process so it may take a week or 3 but decided to bite the bullet and apply,if anything it will save the trees as they wont have to keep bombarding me with junkmail!!!

Glad about you house insurance Paul - we find as our house is old, it has a high rebuild cost, and as well as having a (burn) stream in the garden, most on line insurance wont quote on line.

Ginger, that sounds lovely!!

We have a local nature reserve at the back of the house so not overlooked and it's great for walking the dogs.

We have a large wooded area right outside the back door, fab for doggy walking, unfortunately it occasionally attracts the odd twat with a moto cross bike making a racket(though the police are very keen to stamp this out right away, after a quick phone call!).

Hope the application for the card goes well. I did a 'soft search' for a Barclaycard and got a 70-80% chance of being accepted. Im going to wait until the last default has dropped off my credit file before I apply though

You've also reminded me that I need to renew my contents insurance in the next couple of weeks....Sergei the meerkat needs a friend[:D]

Same here Paul - I wouldn't do go compare if they were giving the stuff away free as I absolutely hate him!!

Jan loves the Meercats and does have a Sergei toy. Next time the pet insurance comes up for renewal she will go for another one (hopefully a different one otherwise it will be on Ebay!!)

I totally hate the Harveys adverts before Coronation Street - wouldn't go there now just because of that!!

We both particularly dislike the Wonga ones - there's something quite unsavoury about using OAP puppets to advertise a loan company!!

My son in law has started to encourage my two year old grandson to say "Look, there's Nanny" when the Wonga ads come on... Needless to say I hate them now too!!!

I love Sergei! I actually bought one off Ebay as it was cheaper than changing my insurer last year!

I won't be getting another one this year either as I got my car insurance renewal through and as it's only gone up less than £5 a month I won't be changing.

Totally agree about the opera singer[}:)]

I dont normally fall for marketing ploys...but the meerkats are a stroke of genius lol

New policy has now been purchased and postkat is wending his way to me from meerkovo with a friend for Sergei[:p]

Daughter had the female one (I forget the name) - Jan's is still in the original packaging in the wardrobe - it might go on Ebay yet!!

Just waiting for pet insurance renewals to come through now.
