The bottom line on this is that life is all about choices. If someone chooses to pay a tithe of 10% then who are we to say whether that is right or wrong. However, as with everything else that choice will have its own repercussions/consequences. It would not be an allowable expenditure in an IVA, nor would it be allowable in a BR. It would not even be allowable in a DMP, although the client may find a DMP company willing to make extra allowances elsewhere to cover the cost, as with a DMP you are making an arrangement to pay the debt back in full so a blind eye may be turned on that basis. I wouldn't do it personally, but she may be able to find someone that will. The alternative, of course, is to either stay as she is or keep on borrowing, and I agree that the church would probably support her if she chose to resolve the problems.
