My little boy was 6 weeks old when we entered into our IVA, that little 6 week old is now a boisterous 19 month old with a 3 month old brother! The beauty for me in having 2 little ones is that i know as they are growing and developing we are getting nearer to the end of our IVA and they wont be too old by the time we are debt free! Just thought i would share that thought! [:)]
Started IVA May 2010 - 17 months done 43 months to go to a happier debt free life - big lesson learnt!

Nice to hear mellymoo. They're too young at the moment to realise that they might have to miss out on somethings and by the time you've paid it off you'll be able to spoil them!!!

Hi Mellymoo. Congratulations on getting this far and congratulations on having 2 lovely children. As Jan says they are too young just now to kno anything and by the time they would like and ask for what they would like you will be in a position to give them things. Ihave 2 boys age 9 and 13. We are going with a DMP for now and they are wanting more expensive things and asking for money for the shop or to go to town or for trips at school. We have struggled to get what they want and it is so easy to go too far and get into debt but i am sure they would not like to know the debt we have. From now on they will have to understand a bit more that they cant have all the things they want. Well done to you for getting the help you needed to give your children the best life they and you can have. You can concentrate on loving your children and not on your debt. (I do ramble on sometimes, Sorry)

Dawn - if you have the time, you could think about doing online surveys. Some pay in cash, some in vouchers and it's what I use to mostly fund Christmas. It's amazing how much you can accumulate over a twelve month period.

Sounds good Jan, but how do you get into them? Do you have any recommendations. I am in the house most of the time so that may be a good idea. Was just wondering, Do you have a date for your appeal yet? My ESA tribunal will be next year now. They say not before march. This means i know that i will carry on getting the reduced rate ESA until then, but i had a thought the other day??? If i win my appeal then great! I will get the rest of it backdated, but whot if i dont win the appeal, will i have to pay all the money back that i have had at the reduced rate? Still waiting to see if they will give me DLA again. I got a feeling i will end up in a tribunal with that one aswel.

I can email you some sites if you like?

Not sure if you are confusing me with someone about an appeal as I'm not going for one, just a variation because of loss of income? Hubby goes onto state pension next month.

No, don't post your address. As administrator I can access the profiles of all members so I will sort yours out and post you the website details of some of those I use.

I may well have encouraged you to go for it, and still would.

Jan introduced me to the surveys last October and have just cashed mine in £130, Christmas sorted!! As long as you persevere they are very rewarding and you soon get into the habit.

I've just got £160 worth of vouchers from one site, £40 from another, got about £40 worth of Tesco vouchers accumulated from Valued Opinions and almost got enough for a £50 cheque from Yougov.

It's worth the time.

Emma - I shall email you now.
