Meant to add that we could easily make a fantastic program which would be more valuable to the general public than that one.

I reckon Andy could direct it?!?

Thanks for explaining about the squirrel Paul! There is no way on God's green earth I will eat roadkill, no matter how skint I am! I can't believe Channel 4 even showed it!

This thread has made me chuckle today! N yes we could do a fantastic job on showing peoplhavoc to make every penny count.

I'm with jan, if I know something is cheaper or on offer I will go & get it from another shop, our tescos & sainsburys& aldis are all 2 minutes of each other.

Don't blame you Lesley!

I have to admit that if I go shopping I do it all in one shop as unless it's a fantastic saving it seems a waste of petrol to go elsewhere.

Don't blame you Lesley - I wasn't impressed as they don't represent the real world and the likes of us who have to work for a living don't have time to do all that penny pinching!!!!

Tina - It was thoughtful of you and well intended. As well as the moans, it has given some entertainment and brought a smile to my face too reading some of the messages.
I was cursing because I missed it and forgot to record it, not cursing now though :-).
The road kill reminds me of a Top Gear episode where Jeremy Clarkson and the team had to live off road kill while touring the USA, after finding the the odd rat or squirell etc at the side of the road and not satisfied, Clarkson drove off returning hours later with a cow on the roof of his car - hilarious!

I can remember, as a kid, when there where such things as greengrocers all over the place, being dragged all over town by my dad, looking for cauliflowers. I have no idea why that has lodged itself in my memory.

Anyway, we must have visited half a dozen shops, weighing, squeezing and sniffing cauli's .... then we ended up buying one from the very first shop we visited.

My dad was having a whale of a time ... needless to say, I was not impressed !!!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

I remember that episode of Top Gear Gareth! Remember all the air fresheners Jeremy used to try and get rid of the smell of the cow?!?!

My mum used to go to the butcher (one for sausages and another for cuts of meat), the fishmonger, the baker, the greengrocer, the farm shop etc but it took all day to get the shopping! Now women work it just isn't practical - so I regretfully use the supermarket for everything.

I always book Christmas Eve off work - thankfully this year it is a rest day for me so I've not had to use any holiday.

I'll be up before the crack of dawn - the shopping will be done and the house cleaned so I can then put my feet up!!
