Hi to all,

Just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU for this site. My only wish is I'd found it earlier. It feels like having an IVA Family.

The last 6 years when times have been tough I could have posted & got some really helpful info & advice from the IVA family. It's something I can't discuss with my family members because of feeling ashamed. Even since I joined the forum I've learnt so much.

Well can't turn the clock back (Not as I want to as we have completed)[:)] waiting for certificate.

But I know that if I have any questions I can post & theres always someone with the knowledge & expertise to answer [:D]

Vixster
IVA Completed Nov 2011.
Completion Certificate received 21st July 2012.

Thanks Vixster - I agree. When I found this site I was in a dark place.

With help and support we have got through our IVA and I have made a lot of friends through the forum.

Keep posting or popping in. I intend to stick around as it keeps me focused to carry on budgeting.

What lovely posts to read from both of you. The forum is indeed a special place, and there is not one day which does not go by where I don't learn something or read something that makes me think about my own clients and how we can improve our own processing of cases.

Melanie I have been following this site for a couple of years now. Oh I wish I knew about it in my darkest days. It has really helped me get through. It makes me laugh and cry. My heart goes out to the thousands out there. And to the good guys who work 24/7 to get us through x x

It is a nice post.

The support that me and my wife have had over the past few years is brilliant. We have both learned so much and love to give back advice and support where we can.

We have made many good friends on here, some of whom we have met and others we hope to meet soon.

There are negative posters and those who try and sabotage the forum but it will always come up trumps!!

What lovely posts to read - this forum is a real treasure and I for one feel very proud to be part of it. It allows those in very dark places to come on and get all the support they need in the safety of remaining anonymous. It allows other to pop on and ask the odd question from time to time. It gives a source of info and ideas for anyone who just wants to read. It provides a platform for good healthy debtes when there are differing views and problems to be aired. It allows us experts to impart what knowledge we have to many at a time instead of 1 to 1 and also lets us learn more and more as we read others' experiences. And lastly, it reminds us all that it doesn't matter how big a mess the money is in, there are always many who truly understand, who have been there themselves and there are people who are ready to help with advice and support to get out of the mess. Forget about light - there really is life at the end of the tunnel!

IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

We both enjoy it as well. It is somewhere you can be open about your problems.

It's unfortunate that the forum does have some negative posters at times but they are few and far between.

I agree with you all.
I was asked by a friend/client to help people on here with advice for mortgages, (which hopefully i have done successfully so far), but it has now become a real part of my life.
I really like being able to help and advise people, my industry is so regulated this is becoming harder to do, but on here i can just be honest and tell people what they need to do, without them having to tell me there name and having a full fact find completed on them.
Great to hear it has helped so many people and long may it continue!

now this post is what im talking about.we have all been down that dark passage where we think whats left to carry on for.but the people on here are all in the same boat and dont judge and its a godsend that people like mel and declan and gemma take the time to give that personal touch and leapfrog the normal system of doing things and get answers when needed.i will always post on here even after my iva finnishes,

It is a great site and I learn from it all the time. It has also enabled me to help others, who may not be ready to post on here, but can be directed to contact a few experts.

if it was not for this site, I would not have gone ahead with a iva.
it was only after asking ?? and reading posts from other, that got me to pick up the phone a talk about my debts.
will be making my 6th payment this week and money sitting in bank 5days early for it. could never say that about a bill before.
IVA now over with and it was worth it.
now starting my life again,
