I'm not sure if you can have a joint account with Think Banking, but I'm sure Andy will be able to help on that one.

You can have an account with them if you have debts with RBS. I have an account with them and I owed a lot to Natwest.

Everyone on here has a high opinion of Think Banking - except me! I really object to paying them £12.50 per month, and I found I couldn't manage without internet banking, or being able to get a balance from a cashpoint - that was the worst part.

I'm sure Andy Davie will be on later and will be able to tell you more about them.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

Hi
You can indeed have a joint account and it will not matter that you have debts with the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Please let me know if you need any further info

Just to confirm what andy said yes , we have a joint ac and one of our creditors was aa financial services which is part of rbos doesnt matter. Great account will be better when intranet comes but wouldnt contemplate changing, I think its worth every penny.

i again will confirm that you can have a joint account, they charge you a little bit extra for the set up fee being 2 of you and the 12.50 per month, it will not matter if you have RBS as a creditor either the account will be opened.

Hi Aguise, Thanks for your very quick reply. My main concern is that I will be having my wages paid into this account and as I am starting the IVA process and have been advised to open a basic bank account will Mint be able to freeze or have access to this account as the process moves along. Thanks again

No they wont, all of our wages go in and there has never been a prob. Give thinkbanking a ring and ask them directly if it is a problem they will tell you, but as said I had debts with RBS and questioned it with them and they said it doesnt matter.

Hi Aguise, Many thanks again. It's great to be able to call on other's experience at times like this. Sometimes its hard to take at face value the voice of an institution !

hi there
me and my partner would like to set up a joint bank account. we have both got a bad credit history and want to open an account with think banking. would we be able to do a debt management scheme with this company as well as having the joint account as disscussed. and also would it matter that we have quiet a lot of different creditors.

Hi there. If you wanted to do debt management the company would be Gregory pennington. You can open the account by telephone the best thing would be to speak to them. You dont have to do debt management with them you can have the account anyway it is open to all. Is debt management your only option, it can take a long time to reduce debts this way, the number of creditors would not be a problem.

Hi
And get a second opinion.
Gregory Pennington are quite intent on selling more than just the Think Bank Account.
There have been posts of people etering into a DMP with them and then within a few months told that they are eligible for an IVA.
It pays to get a second or third opinion regarding situation

Andy raises a great point.

There are a choice of banks available; there's no need to pay £12.50 per month necessarily.

Equally there are many debt management companies; "free" and fee-charging. Talking to a number of companies will give you a sense for the best solution and the best provider of your chosen solution.
