First 45 I bought was My Eloise by the Ryan Brothers. I think it cost me 3 shillings and 6 pence.

I was in love with Karen Carpenter (doomed to an early end). The Suzi Quatro got my attentions (oooh .. and Sylvie Vartan (French star)).

The first single I bought (in good old Woolworths) was The Irish Rover by the Pogues and the Dubliners!

The last 45 I bought was I will survive by Gloria Gaynor. After that it was cassettes, 8 tracks (I was foolish enough to go for that initially!) and then CD's.

It's the daughters old MP3 in the car these days!!!

I actually thought the 8 track was brilliant - it just never took off. I had one in the car and loads of 8 tracks to listen to.

Never did Betamax, mine was VHS from the beginning thankfully. My first one was a JVC top loader which cost me £300 and I had to have that on HP!

You've made me feel really old Skip! It was a a very bulky cassette type player which had a complete album on it. You could switch between the tracks rather than having to rewind with a cassette. I thought it was brilliant.
