Wouldn't touch Virgin with a ten foot barge pole!

Just changed from Virgin back to Sky, they are just as bad though. Customer service for both is non-existent.

I was with virgin and the net kept dipping in and out all the time, whereas now I'm with sky I'm happy. x

I'm with Virgin and they're not the best but I can't say I'm unhappy with them, the article is pointing out the blatent dishonesty by ISP's regarding the speeds and if Sky and BT have nothing to hide why object to the adverts instead of trying to prove them wrong?
Just done a speed test, 8.95mps, I'm on 'up to' 20mps so the sooner all this kidology is dealt with the better.

Can I just point out that the broadband speed actually depends on the quality of the phone line, the connections and how close you are to the exchange, not just the ISP?

Virgin is one of the faster ones as they use fibre optic cables, whereas Sky use existing BT lines. BT are laying fibre optic cables in some areas which may improve their speed, and therefore in time, possibly Sky's speed as well.

The claim is they will get 'up to' a certain speed, not that they will definitely get this speed. I'm sure Virgin are just as guilty of having slower speeds as the other companies.

I had terrible problems with BT, can't do Virgin as we don't have cable.

I would recommend Sky at the moment - had no problems with them at all.

Wish I had changed to Sky before I did.

We don't have cable either Jan but you could have Virgin as your ISP not that you'd want to in my opinion. x

Quite agree Skippy, that's what I mean about kidology, 'up to' seems to give them all licence to make claims which more often than not can't be achieved.

Definitely don't want Virgin! I'm more than happy with Sky and with my speeds - it does me for my needs.

I could do with a bit faster speeds as I'm a bit impatient but the connectivity is fine with Sky. x
