just watched her parents on Lorraine-and found tears streaming down my face.
I am not an emotional person-but am a mother.
No-one can imagine the pain they are going through-how do they carry on through life not knowing where their child is.
She has been away from them longer now than with them.
Nobody is actively looking for her except her parents.
The guilt they must feel because they werent there when she went missing must be unbearable.
My heart goes out to them and all the parents of missing children.
My son trotted off to school half an hour ago-just like all the other kids on the estate.
He wants his independence and I have to let him have it-school is less than 5 minutes away.
Would I be looked at as an uncaring mother if something happened to him.
When do we start letting go and give our kids the freedom they need to grow.

I would give anything to keep my family close and safe.

Puts all our problems in life in perspective.

I took my two to the bus stop every school day and was there to pick them up every evening until they got their own cars at the age of 17.The bus stop is less than 5 mins walk but I would never have forgiven my self if anything had happened to them because I couldnt or wouldnt take them. The one time I was late to pick my daughter up from the bus stop and bear in mind she was 16, she rang her step dad and he went to collect her in the tractor. We always took them to their friends and collected them when it was time to come home and always became the taxi for trips to the cinema or bowling. They are both very independent people and can hold their own but I still insist if they go long distances they ring when they get there so I know they are safe.

Even after all this time I still can't get my head around why they left three such young children alone in the apartment, regardless of how close they were to it. But, I would never wish what they have gone through on anybody. I can only imagine the pain that they must go through every single day since this happened. It is every parents worst nightmare and I really do hope that one day their prayers are answered and Madeline will be found.

I would lay my life on the line for my kids and yes, I suppose to people that know me I am considered over protective of my daughters but if that is what it takes to keep them safe and well(especially in today's society) then so be it.
God bless Madeline wherever she may be. :(

I think we all have our seperate views on this, myself included antm. Probably best left alone.

If Im out of order then give me a slap! But maybe out of respect to Madeline & her Family would it be appropriate to lock the topic?

Its one of those topics that is discussed over lunch at work, person to person and not the best for an internet forum.

Some people raise eyebrows at my views on this one, but after quite often agree that they never looked at it that way.

I think you could be right Mrs K. It's a sensitive subject and we all have our own views which could upset some people.

Topic locked.
