Hi All
I am in the process of setting up my IVA, I sent letters out to all my creditors 2 weeks ago informing them that they will now have to deal with the IVA company, and today I get a call from Yorkshire Bank Visa.
I explained about the IVA and told them about the letter that was sent to them, and guess what? they are claiming that they didn't receive any letter!!
I said that I would gladly give them the contact details of my IP so they could talk to them directly but they didn't want to know.
I explained that I had instructed the IP company to act on my behalf by way of a ATA form, and they STILL didn't want to know.
At this point I politely told them that I would no longer speak to them, and ended the call.......
One of the problems with these calls - and they will stop eventually - is that it soon becomes apparent that the person you`re talking to hasn`t a clue what an IVA is. It was hard to believe but sadly true.
Unfortunately it does happen - the creditors are informed of the IVA proposal but you are dealing with people in the call centres who don't have a clue.
Just refuse to answer security questions and they cannot continue with the call.
Welcome and well done you ! That is exactly the process to end your calls with creditors politely but with authority.... Your IP will write to them all and once the creditors have approved your IVA, which they will I am sure, you will find the calls will cease quite quickly.
If you are online with any of your creditors I would go in and amend or remove your contact number.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.

There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !
well done forrest , these call get less and less as time goes on i tell them when they ask to speak to my hubby to take my number off the register as its in my name, you will get letters but just pass them on to your ip, or you could just unplug or ignore the phone
You're better than me - I wasn't as polite as that with my creditors! I hated dealing with call centres (and still do) as most of the staff are poorly trained and couldn't care less.
Now if I get calls from any call centre I refuse to answer the security questions so they can't carry on.
And no doubt the muppet at the end of the phone said, I don't see that on my system (and not actually knowing what an IVA even is anyhow) followed by when are you going to pay.
At this point though you are sat with no more worries with your feet up!
