I never meet the public - unless it is with the great unwashed if I have to go to court.

Perhaps I should point them in your direction briggadeen![:D][:D]

I meet the public everyday and often think I'm in the wrong job as I always think my job would be ok without students.

On 20th May I've been chosen to teach a lesson where the Minister of State (Further Education, Skills and Lifelong Learning), Business, Innovation and Skills is observing... I have to say I'm not looking forward to it. He opened our new college two weeks ago and this commemorated by the plaque in the entrance etc., One person came in and said we'd got his name wrong, I said 'oh no' and he said yeah you forgot to put 'thief' on the end as he's our local MP! ooh could be an interesting lesson and he's bringing a photographer!

Good for you!

Hmmmmm teaching with no students could be tricky Lesley [:D]

You are obviously great at your job and hopefully the Minister of State will learn something on the 20th [:D]

On the whole I enjoy my job, can be frustrating and challenging, but no 2 days are ever the same.

I'm just worried if there are shall we say older persons on the course as I won't know who's enrolled until the day as it's a 3 hour taster to entice them to enrol onto another course.

The older generation may turn it into a political lesson rather than an IT one and that will definitely go straight over my head x

I could quite happily give my job up tomorrow if they would let me retire!

On the plus side, I get a sense of satisfaction when my part of the job results in a criminal getting banged up!

I'd enjoy that too Jan.

I just know I've outgrown teaching, only doing 10 hours now so see what after Easter brings when I start the 10 hours x

Pretend the minister isn't there, what would you do if students strayed from IT topic to political??

If the minister is causing a distraction, can you ask him to leave?[:D]

You are often observed by an inspector (Ofsted) and it's up to you as the tutor to bring the lesson back on track, we do have ways, they've chosen me as I do bring the comedy element to it and my lessons can be fairly lively as I like to think I'm funny!

If you're ever in this area you can do Julie, you'd be more than welcome. I talk too much is what they want to say but it keeps them happy.

Thanks Jan, it's not until the 20th May so plenty of time to prepare which is good as we've just upgraded software and I'm still learning that. x
