My final payment is due to go out today! After six long years, it seems that the end is coming into view!
I know that loads of people have been waiting for ages for their completion certificate - I'm with Payplan, has anyone received theirs recently? If so, could you please advise me of a likely timescale?
I have dutifully submitted all forms to EIF as regards mis-sold PPI, etc.
Thanks.
Last monthly payment made 3 June 2013 after 6 long years. CC issued 21 August 2013, but, er, lost in the post. Finally got it 17 September.
not sure about payplans closure timescales; i suppose its very much linked to if EIF have finalised any monies to come in from PPI & paid over.
Alas , my only experience of EIF has been to find them completely inefficient & disorganised, as indeed have other forum members.
Hopefully someone who has actually completed with payplan recently will be along at somepoint today to give you a better idea; but i think im correct to say it will be dependent on if EIF have finalised getting monies in
Last payment made April 2012
Certificate received 1st Nov 2012
Thanks '12 months to go'. Payplan did a MVM late last year according to which closures would not be affected by ongoing PPI claims, so here's hoping that the deed is as good as the word. But yep, I have also read nightmarish things about EIF......

We sent our forms off to eif last july/aug and its still not finalised. I hope for you as you've come to the end that it gets sorted a lot quicker.
Enjoy being debt free
I have asked payplan the same question in the last week. I was advised (quote) they are unable to give any timescale in respect of the issuing c of c's.but are working through the paperwork as quicky as possible and ask clients to be patient during this process. Well make your own mind up with that reply I think!!!!
Payplan told me on the phone yesterday, when informing me that my case officer had changed, that after some final checks, uplift payments from my salary since the last review etc., that the matter would then be referred to 'closures' - the timescale quoted for the whole procedure was 2-3 months, but I will be very, very surprised if it goes through in that time.
So just have to sit and wait - seems to be the lot of everyone these days who are finishing the process.

Why do they say that they cannot give you the confirmation of when they expect to close your case? If the case is with the "closures" department, I cannot see why this should take 2-3 months.

To be fair Melanie though your company quotes 2 months, coming up 3 weeks so far for me since last payment. (Yes im impatient sorry just want to move on and clean up credit files!)
Mel - It is my understanding that my case has not yet gone to the 'closures' department, but I hope and expect it to do so after paying into the arrangement some salary uplift that has accrued this way and that over the last 18 months. I'll see what happens then.
Fingers - I'd take a projected timescale of 2 months, no problem. Not least as I think that everyone knows that Mel and her team are as good as their word!

We are well within the time limit for closing your case Fingers, if it is only three weeks from your last payment. When we quote two months, we really do mean two months - as there is no way that I would be doing an unnecessary annual report when a closure could be effected.
We are not sufficiently large to warrant a separate closures department, neither do we need one. Once a case is identified for closure, within our schedule, it is closed that day - not leaving our clients to wait for 2-3 months. Hence my comments.
