Well i thought it was too good to be true, i changed my phone numbers with most of my creditors online, but couldnt with my evans card which was GE money, they phoned late last night, but i was gob smacked spoke to a nice gentleman who expressed he was sorry i was going down the IVA route, and there was already a note on my account, so he was going to do something that will stop the calls for the next couple of weeks, hopefully then things will be moving on the iva route. Im still waiting for some balances to come in but since i stoppped paying and sent my letters off to my creditors not had any statements come through yet[:(]

I hope things start moving soon Jan, been off work last week with really bad flu, worked for one week with it then had to give in and rest as it took its toll. Ive e mailed some stuff for the IVA today, so its just a waiting game i think. Was really worried when GE money phoned last night, but as you said Melonie it proves some people are Human.

Not swine flu I hope!!!!!![:D][:D]

I hope you are feeling better now.

Some creditors are human - I had no problem with Lombard Direct, infact they were very helpfull, and Direct Line never contacted me at all!

G E Money were very helpful when i was proposing the IVA. I spoke to them once and explained the situation. The lady on the other end of the phone took some basic details of who was going to be presenting my IVA and then said she would put a note on the account, that would stop all further contact. I had a call two weeks later from them, to confirm that cleardebt had indeed contacted them as i had said. I informed them then of my creditors meeting date and they told me "Thank you for being helpful". This was the last i heard of them.
Some creditors seem to understand and try and help whilst others just hassle you on a daily routine.
All in all, well done G E Money

Thats good news.

I wish Barclays were the same. I spoke to someone there this morning at 8.15am and they have been back on twice more. Its stupid. They all say they are putting notes on the system and you will not be contacted again for a few weeks. MBNA are probably the worst.

There are many similar topics on these forum boards regarding these companies. MBNA,Barclays & there collecting agencies always seem to come top of most peoples list.

Ive got MBNA as a creditor but lucky enough i changed my phone number with them and gave a false number so i only get letters from them as they really got on my nerves, as they would phone and phone even when i told them they were stressing me out by keeping me awake as i worked nights, they told me to just pay up and the calls would stop. I couldnt turn phone off as kids were at school and childminders. But all in all things are quiet at mo from MBNA / aegis

At the beginning I had constant hassle from MBNA (Aegis) until I explained I was going down the IVA route. My other creditors were as follows:-

Northern Rock - one phone call, nice man updated records
Sky Card - one call, no hassle
Tesco Credit Card - few letters, no calls
Halifax - few calls (which I ignored), lots of letters, one saying someone was calling my home, at first I panicked and thought it said someone was coming out to my home, then realised it said calling my home, they gave a date, but no-one came or phoned.
Alliance and Leicester - couple of letters.

I think I've been quite lucky, still haven't got a creditors meeting date, has been nearly 3 months, but the letters and calls are very few these days - fingers crossed it stays that way for a few more weeks!!

Amanda, hopefully you will get your creditors meeting in the near future and then you really can move on. I found, that once i knew the date of the creditors meeting, the phone calls really seemed to dry up. Obviuously the creditors were then aware of my meeting. But now the IVA has been approved, it has become a pleasure for the phone to ring and not dread it. I am a bit disappointed at the moment though. I am waiting for a call from favourite company MBNA. I simply can't wait for that one.

Hi Amanda - 3 months is a long wait - do you know why? Who is the firm you are doing your IVA with?
