Moneysupermarket promotes DEMSA debt management companies and Martin Lewis the CCCS. Should be an interesting test of impartiality coming up.

Has there been any news on Wonga taking over the CCCS ?

Apparently, the MSE sale needs OFT approval - which means the £1m donation on offer to CAB ( on completion of the deal ) is also dependent on that decision. I'm sure the two things are completely unrelated, but it looks a bit obvious doesn't it ?

I've not personally come across this "other" forum, but I'm not liking what I read so far!

Year up to last October the site generated £16m, a large proportion of which came from the new owner ( if OFT say yes).

I have had enough of that site ... not at all good for my already soaring blood pressure !!!!!

I do enjoy MSE a lot to be honest, there's lots on there that can lead you to pick up some great bargains which all helps in an IVA and I do love a good debate which can be a it fierce over there to be honest at times!

I often read the Food bargains board to pick up on offers (which led me to stocking up on 24 cans of Branston beans last weekend in Lidl!), hot deals UK is another site though that is good for dropping on bargains that are on offer

I'm surprised you have never seen it Lyns, it's very well known and popular

What annoys me Lem, is that some poster(s) is / are snitching about me to admin rather than confronting me personally, so I can't defend myself. Not that I want a confrontation, but I would like to know what their problem is !!!!

I don't tend to post on there as often as I used to but tend to use it to search for stuff that is useful to me more than anything else, I do think that some of the debates over there get so heated as many of the topics are extremely controversial and there are a lot of posters that are ready to jump on someone if they say the wrong thing.

I think the posters that have probably snitched are just aggrieved that it seems you are advertising another forum which is sponsored by a particular debt management company and therefore can't be seen to be 'impartial' (not my opinion by the way!) but don't let that put you off the rest of the forum, use it to your advantage, that's what I do

I'm not much of a surfer when it comes to the Internet & forums, this is the only one Ive found that I liked & now love!

If its the MSE that's just been sold that we are in about, I've not really bothered with it, thank goodness by the sounds of it!

Yes, I will admit MSE has some good points, but from the point of view of giving helpful advice it doesn't score very highly. There are only a few of us who try to help out without being harsh or judgemental (mainly peeps from here, strangely), other than that there seems to be very little support offered and no "family" atmosphere.

So, I am afraid I shall be venturing that way no more.

Very glad I've never bothered!

I have looked at the site on occasions but I've never really felt anything was of any use to me, this forum has been the most helpful.
