Yes greyhounds do! My neighbour has just rescued a one and she (Lola) is lovely - mind you, she is not to be trusted with small dogs (i.e mine!) or cats - yet. Don't know which part of the country you are, but google a resuce centre called 'Many Tears' - but have a hankie handy!

I am not in West Mids but travelled to Wales where they are located, to rescue our Cairn; they take a lot of puppy farm rejects, which he was because he had an overshot jaw! Bottom of the genetic pool for looks, but at the top for personality. 'Many Tears' are an inspiration to all animal lovers.

Refreshing to know that there are financially challenged people out there who don't ditch the pet(s) because of being broke.

Very best wishes ...

I will have a look at that sight desperateneed when I have lots of tissues handy as I blub at the sight of any animal that needs a home or has been mistreated.
I think my passion for animals must come from my mum who used to own and run a dog boarding kennels all the while I was growing up and we used to take in strays also. I remember once when I was about 7 that someone left two dogs tied to the gate and abandoned them in an awful state, one unfortunatley didn't make it but the other was rehomed and called Lucky!

I love every one of mine and have never lived in an animal free zone; I am just delighted to say that in the past 4.5 years they have never gone without (hubby and I have), and I really believe that without them I would not have fought so hard to keep our home; the the prospect of re-homing was a no-no.

that's it, I'll have to photograph my dog and send her pic to admin!!!! I have loads of photo's of her but they're on the other laptop and it's not playing lately.... modern technology!!!!
All the avatars are going to be pets soon, only the newbies will have animated ones....lol
Emma, I like the scarf, my staff used to have a shocking pink bandana around her neck, the kids laughed at me when I put it on her(it was about 4yrs ago), now they are all the rage and you can buy them for handbag dogs.....
It's nice to be back......

I know chris - He hates his scarf and will rarely wear it - only if I bribe him with a treat or two!!!!
He likes to try and pull it off to rip it up, so he does not wear it often[:)]

Thanks admin, I love my new avatar. This is Nia, my husband and I found her living in our yard in our old house about a year and a half ago. She was in a terrible state, super skinny, cuts and sores all over her, wouldn't let us near her. It took weeks for her to trust us. Asked everywhere but no one came forward. Eventually she walked into the house and never went out again. Vet said she wasn't chipped and she had suffered abuse. She healed and after we came to live at my dad's she started to venture outside, just in the garden and only if I or hubby was with her. She is so nervous she chews big pieces out of her. The vet thinks she has psychogenic dermatitis alopecia! It's like human OCD. She may have to be on steroids and anti anxiety meds for ever. The vet thinks she is 8 so I dread to think what has happened to her. She is my baby and I wanted to share that with you all after hearing about all your loved ones.

Funny you say that because I have been known to dabble in the old wicca. Never thought of that though, I'll go and tell her she may have magical powers.[:D]
