Hi,

My husband has just done his tax return and we are due a rebate of just over £1000.00. However as he has earned more then we had thought we have to repay tax credits. Will we be allowed to use this rebate money to pay off the tax credits we owe.

Another question I have is we are having a baby in August but our IVA review is only due in December. Should we tell our IP our circumstances are due to change?

Thanks
ho...hum....keep on going!

Sorry no-one has answered this post so far - I've been taking a little forum-break over the last couple of days.

It would seem reasonable for you to be able to set-off the tax rebate against overpaid tax credits, but you will really need to clear this down with your own IP.

You should tell your IP about the baby as soon as possible, in case you need any support from them prior to and after the birth.
