Hi Adella,

Just echoing what the others say here, my parents consider debt as the worst thing you could possibly do, away from here there's only 3 or 4 people who know about the IVA (one of whom declared herself bankrupt, so I mostly tell her). So it's great to have somewhere to talk about debt as if it was as normal as eating and sleeping!
Final payment 1st April 2016.
Completion Certificate received 19th May 2016.

My parents would pass out if they knew the extent of my debt!

However they are being very supportive over the whole re-posession thing as they know I was not to blame and that my ex really did screw me over!

that aside I should have been more careful and try to avoid talking about it with them as I've had the lectures and it just makes me feel terrible!

This forum is brilliant because no one judges you

I'd be completely lost without this forum, The iva process isnt an easy process and emotionally a massive rollercoaster. Alongside my hubby the forum has got me through the darkest of days.and offered loads of support and friendship too :) I couldnt think of anything worse than someone close to us knowing of our secret!! I'm sooo ashamed and couldnt cope with the lectures from the elders either :)
Its good to share the experience alongside others that know exactly what were going through
Fab stuff or what our 10 year old would say "thats well sick" ???

My parents would totally kill me if they knew! Daughter and stepkids know and that's it.

I'm glad I found the forum when I did and so glad that I've been able to give something back.

Plus I have made some fantastic friends on here.

My youngest daughter knows but my elder 3 don't. I think you know who to tell and who you can't, it's a problem when like this year my brother is getting married and they don't know!

My daughter knows as we've had to tell her that things are tight and the step children are in the same position!

Hope you can sort your brothers wedding out!

The wedding I'm not too worried about the present as son (youngest) luckily will pool most of the money for the present and we'll all chip in to make a good family present.

Unfortunately, we need to get there pay for a hotel and feed ourselves oh and I might like a new frock!

We'll see what happens but I'm sure it'll all work out these things usually do.

You'll get it sorted Lesley - you're good at sorting cheap hotels as well!
