Hi I opened a flex account with Nationwide many months ago ..I 've now applied for an iva and waiting for a response .. I have transferred all my direct debits into my new account but worried now that if my Iva is accepted , Nationwide will ask to switch to a basic account and this will cause a lot of disruption in order to set up all my direct debits all over again.
This happened to us with Natwest.
When they found out about IVA we were changed to their most basic account but they automatically changed the DD etc we didnt have to do it all again.
To be fair that was over 6 years ago now and still with the basic no frills account!
We had no problems with Nationwide but ours was a basic one. We did have a basic debit card and were allowed to keep it.

It shouldn't cause any major disruption --- they do all the switching themselves. As long as your current account is a no frills one, they might well leave it as is.
