Hi, Im Sarah, and Im just starting the IVA process...feeling very scared.. Just cancelled direct debits to creditors, god it was hard to hit that confirm button !!
However, I am so relieved that I found out about IVA.. I have been living with a bullying partner for years, and felt financially trapped. I carry all the debt as he has a poor credit rating. I have spent the past 12 months feeling desparately unhappy, and thinking that if we split up I would lose my home and not be able to look after my son properly. Now I am hoping IVA will be my lifeline...

Hi Sarah, I agree at the outset of the IVA it can feel scary and you can feel alone, but now you've found us you'll get all the support/advice you need.

I assume you've left your partner and if I assume right this IVA will certainly be the start of a brand new future for you and your son. All the best and remember where we are x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hello Sarah,

I'm sure you will be able to get sorted with an IVA - what I would say is that if you have split up from your partner and he doesn't know where you are now, you might be able to get your address removed from the register (once you are approved). Something to discuss with your chosen IP.

Hi, i am quite new to the forum too, saying that i am 3.5 years into my IVA i only wish i had discovered it sooner. Its such a relief to be able to discuss the IVA openly as i have chosen to keep my IVA completely secret from my nearest and dearest and it has often made me feel very alone. Although very hard at times it is the best thing i have ever done, financially. I do keep waiting for the catch though, seems too good to be true sometimes! All the best with your fresh start.
