Same here PJL early 70's and outside the whole of the school hols and loved every minute. Don't think she knew where I was half the time but to be fair you didn't do nothing wrong as you dare not!

I felt it was safer then, I couldn't and wouldn't let my granddaughter do the same now, petrifies me just the thought x

I have just been to Tesco and see the smallest of kids in there on their own, they couldnt have been above 6 years old. I just wonder where the parents are and do they know where the kids are.

I see loads of youngsters in my local Tesco as well. My daughter wasn't even allowed to play outside the front of the house until she was almost a teenager and if she walked to her friends (just round the corner) one of us would walk to the top of the road and watch her go to the house.

Me? I was out from morning till night only coming in for meals and we used to have great fun. If it rained we'd all gather in my dads shed!!

I've always been like that with my youngest the elder 3 had a little more freedom.

Hubby's kids had a lot more freedom as well.

I was a child of the 50's and 60's and it was much safer then!!

Have a look at the website www.www.wherecanwego.com.

Just type in a postcode and give you a list of things, events etc that are on in your area. Use it all the time for days out with my family and lots of the events are free or cheap to go to [:)]

We're off to the park tomorrow, with a picnic and ball so hopefully both my partner's children will run themselve ragged and also enjoy what is on offer, they don't know anything yet so it will be a surprise for them when we go and pick them up.
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

If anyone lives in Lincolnshire, the annual Food Festival is on tomorrow, I'm working all weekend and daughter volunteering tomorrow and hubby on Sunday (kindly volunteered by me).

It's a free event and lots going on for adults and children alike. Google will bring up the location.

Orchid the park is a lovely place to go and I often go with my grandchildren they love it. x

Yes,fortunately there are a few nearby to where i live and also where my partner lives so wasn't a hard choice, plus if we pack a picnic will be something different too, i've just had to text him to say don't tell them, let it be a surprise as i know he will be speaking to them later today. xxxx
