Hi all , hope everyone is well ,
Just a quick msg . We sent off letters downloaded from Martin Lewis site re Ppi claims . We finished iva last year and to be honest didn't think we could claim . But for the cost of a stamp we sent forms about a month ago . I had received a letter saying no , we don't owe anything , my husband had letter saying they would look into it . Well today we had a letter saying a refund of £5525 would be made to him for loan he had in the 90s and paid off . We were both shell shocked .the letter went onto say that they would send a chq to home address, so have to see if it turns up yet but fingers crossed it does

Wow - good for you and another success story of someone making the claim directly to creditors and getting a result. Will this need to be paid into your old IVA as an asset?

Well done that is good news! My IVA commenced in 2007 prior to the protocols being written! My report only says assets acquired during the arrangement so hopefully yours too will say the same! Surely that means that you are able to keep the money?? I can see why IP's want this sorted prior to completion!! 15% of £5000!! Mmmmm how much would that be worth then!!

The asset provisions has nothing to do with the IVA Protocol - it simply depends upon the wording of each individual agreement.

Often, creditors will contact the former IP to ask where the money ought to be sent. We are getting a lot of these enquiries at the moment, so it shows the system is working. And they are not windfalls, they are assets.

Hi Molly, let's hope that you get to keep it, nice one.

My IVA doesn't state anything about assets other than those listed ie, car, house but the PPI has been taken.
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.
