Hi Lem and Rosepetal,
I am in the same situation and I have felt everything you are feeling right now. I sent all my paperwork off 3 weeks agao and thought we were on track but I had a request on Tuesday from Darryl (I'm also with Melanie's team) for 2 more things. They were sent on Wednesday so there may be a chance the review team can progress things before Christmas.
I was hoping to get something to look at before Christmas but never mind, hopefully I can start down the IVA road in January if Mel can work her magic for me too.
I'm looking forward to the relief that all of the IVAers keep talking about.

Foggy, i think that seeing all "the mess" as we got paperwork together really got to me!! what you said was so true, i didn't know about about almost all of it until a few weeks ago(hubby trying to "sort it out" alone, with more credit). it is shocking and depressing but i am grateful it's being delt with now,it would have grown again over Christmas.
good news for you! keep swinging the lantern at the end of the tunnel Foggy....i can't see it yet[:(]
Nothing stays the same...everything changes..hang on in there!
I think it is unlikely that you will have anything to look at now before Christmas, but I am sure that Mel will be along to reassure you later.

I'm not too stressed as long as they have everything and can put together the best proposal for me.
My car broke down at the school gates when I should have been off to the pub yesterday. Arranged for the RAC to sort it this morning at 10am but woke up to 5 inches of snow!
I have 2 weeks off now so don't really need my car and we can't get up our hill anyway. I'm just glad my wife is so organised and Christmas is pretty much sorted.
I know I'm in good hands so I'll let you experts help the people on here who are really stressed at the moments.

Hi Jan,
I've read some of your posts about I&E and it sounds straight forward and comfortable for someone in an IVA.
I've tried to accurately predict the changes in my circumstances over the next 6 years and it looks like every September I'll have to up my monthly payment. How flexible are IPs in trying to maintain a good return for creditors whilst allowing IVAers to have a reasonable standard of living? When I think about my council tax, gas and electric bills and the price of a litre of petrol 6 years ago I can't remember where my wages went.
Based on my calculations and forecasts I should be able to repay 75p in the £. I believe this is good from this forum and I should have paid the majority in 1/3 of the time of my old DMP.

You won't necessarily have to up your payment. I am coming up for my third review and not had to up my payments yet. Don't forget that your expenditure will have gone up as well.
75p in the pound is an excellent dividend.

That's good. As long as we can be warm and fed I'm happy to pay back as much as I can. I check this forum at least once a day and I'm sure I'll be asking lots of questions when I'm in an IVA.

Keep strong Rosepetal, honestly soon you`ll be ok...everything will be sorted. I know the feeling, it seems a million miles away at the minute, granted, but every day that passes is a day nearer to a stress free future.

You will all get there in the end. As Goosed says, it seems a long way away but that meeting will be here before you know it.

All clients who are with my firm at present will get their IVA proposals just as soon as we are physically able to do so. Some of you are just at the very early stages of gathering up paperwork - and we always quote a 6-8 week timescale from the time of receiving complete documents. If anyone has any real concerns about the process, could I ask that they contact me off line to discuss these please.

Melanie/all,thankyou for the information re time scales, this is all new to us,we have no experience even with friends of this situation. we have sent 1 lot of papers off& are awaiting some other items that have been requested.
it was naive of my hubby & i to even hope for a creditors meeting this side of Christmas even without all the bad weather on top now slowing postal delivery to a halt! it is very stressful to have calls coming through from creditors that we do not want to share with our children and letters where yet even more interest is being added on to amounts that take my breath away. time always seem's to pass so slowly when in situations like this.
co ordination is difficult for me,making simple tasks more time consuming, sometimes impossible &tiring, this is very frustrating as ordinary tasks take me a long time.
i've had a awful lot to take on board over the last few weeks,it's been a tremendous shock which has shaken my relationship with my husband to the core.
the snow looks so pretty from indoors but it is so isolating for me,i'm unsteady at the best of times.my husband took me to shops yesterday but i can't use my scooter in the snow. i hate being stuck in, roll on the spring!
Have a good Christmas!

No problem Rosepetal - I do understand how difficult this is for you at the moment and if there is anything at all I can help with then please let me know. I am sure we will be able to get things finalised for you very early in the New Year, and I shall hope to speak to you personally over the next couple of days.
I agree with you about the snow - we have had the worst weather in South Wales for around 50 years and I am completely cut off in my village with heating gaz very shortly going to run out.
Try and park aside debt related stress for a couple of weeks and just concentrate on keeping warm and having a nice family time over the festive season.
Hi Melanie, yes we will,Christmas will enforce a pause won't it? i do think Foggy (another posterr) hit the nail on the head saying that organising the paperwork is very hard,it's seeing it all mounted up,it hits you.
the weather makes me/us so grateful for heat and a roof over our heads,God help anyone homeless in these terrible low temperatures! i hate being house bound but it's just not safe out there. i do hope you're able to get more gas especially with your mum,it's harder to keep warm if you're not active.we take so much for granted.
we would feel better if we're able to talk to you before Christmas. my husband is on shifts so we will email Darryl the times he's free & hope we can arrange a time.
things have felt quite fraught, thankyou for taking time to post, the support from the board is a life line.
