Hi there, I am hoping you can advise. I am looking at getting a mortgage; however, I have previously been in an IVA. I made my last payment in November 2011 but am still having difficulties in obtaining a mortgage. A couple of days ago I has a letter from a local housing association advising that the have some new build properties coming available, however, I would need a mortgage (or a mortgage in principal by 21st February) of around £140,000. I do have a Notice of Correction on my credit file, I am registered on the electrol roll. My current salary is £40210. Can you please advise? Many thanks in advance

Hi Kieran and welcome to the forum

I would suggest that you contact either Shaun or Ryan who occasionally post on the forum and are reputable mortgage brokers. They are best placed to advise you as to what deals are currently available for persons with your financial background and you can find their details on the "Ask Experts a Question" section of the forum.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

Definitely speak to Ryan or Shaun our forum brokers .... There are other forum members who have successfully gained mortgages after iva ... It does depend on your credit record being clear and a healthy deposit.
