Here are a few suggestions to make that phone call a bit more enjoyable:
Laugh at them and point down the phone
Put them on hold while you go make a cuppa
Pretend that the horse that you've backed is 100m from the finish line and neck and neck, and it really needs your support to win.
Bark down the phone
Simulate sexual activity.
Ask the person what they are wearing
Re enact a scene from the film Fight Club
Tell them that you a Jehovahs Witness and would really like to discuss their relationship with God.
Blow dry your hair
Try to replicate the steel drum sound using pots, pans and baked bean tins.
Play Cowboys and Indians, and you play the part of the Indian.
Pretend you are auditioning for the X Factor and your song of choice is "I will Always Love you" by Whitney Houston.
Whatever you do, do not be concerned, they are wasting their time, so if they are intent on doing it, try to make it entertaining for them.
Anyen you could always do what i did when i got fed up of calls for my hubby i just said sorry he doesn't live here anymore ( haven't told him though he still comes through the door as if he does)
Lol at bradders and also 4kidsnocash, i think you should just leave them hanging on the phone and go do something more productive rather than listen to senseless waffle. Good luck hopefully they will stop soon and as Foggy says if not then harrassment is the word i'b be using next. x
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.
IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.
So funny Bradders-wish I had had that list when I first started my IVA, seriously though once the IVA is accepted, they can't do anything even though they try.Its annoying and stressful. I just disconnected the landline and put my mobile on silent and ignored all numbers I didn't recognise, but they do stop eventually.[:D]
Forgot to add the calls will stop eventually but it does take time to filter through to all and I know some are quicker to mark as in an IVA than others. Eventually one creditor Barclaycard couldn't get the message and my husband did lose him temper with them ...they didn't call back! x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
I know I shouldn't say this - but I think that Bradders post is absolutely priceless! Couldn't recommend any of the particular points to a client, however, (much as I would love to be able to sometimes!!)
