If we didn't laugh Andy I don't know what would happen.

I'm not too sure that it is the PPI fiasco to be honest, especially when you see firms like Melanie's closing cases within 2 months max of final payments. Surely their clients have to go down the PPI route too? It seems to just be a problem for one, possibly 2, companies, who also keep their clients in the dark by lack of communication. There seems to be no urgency in their way of working and I truly believe they don't care at all about their clients' lives being on hold as long as they get their fees. If it's possible for other companies to close in a timely fashion, why not GT?

From my personal experience I found that if you make enough of a fuss that your IP will personally deal with your case.

My now ex-wife and I were in a joint or interlocking IVA, I made a fuss (understatement) and after 7 years got a completion certificate, she who did not make a fuss had to wait several months more for hers.
7 years after starting an IVA I finally received a completion certificate from ClearDebt

I often do say it's he who shouts loudest, but surely that is not the correct procedure for anyone...all clients should be equally treated and closures sorted well in a timely fashion which isn't happening in a lot of cases.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I'm not usually the one to make a fuss and I really don't want to rock the boat, but when I see other firms managing to issue closures & I know that we have stuck to our side of the bargain, it rally makes my blood boil knowing these firms know they have you over a barrel & can basically make to sit & stew as long as they like. I know it's not the fault of the frontline staff but its they who get all the hassle. Maybe if these IPs took a few phone calls they'd understand what was going on & maybe, just maybe, we'd see things change & out cases dealt with in a respectable time frame. The most annoying part for us, like many, is that we didn't choose to use GT as our IPs for a reason. Yet we find ourselves now stuck in their backlog 9 months (which I know compared to some isn't long) after our final payments.
