I wouldn’t worry too much, after we went bankrupt last week, we spoke to someone from the OR’s office and she was very nice and asked about any money in the bank account. We had taken it all out, but she said if there was any in and we had needed it to live off, she would have enabled us to get some out.

If I were you, I’d just explain this to them, I am sure they wouldn’t leave you with not enough to live on

xx

Thanks Jane I feel so disorganised even though I have been building up to this for months! I feel a bit eek about the whole thing and am worried about what will happen to our joint account and whether this will be frozen too as obviously this is our house account as it were and things still have to come out of this month - I cannot seem to get any sense from the helpline number as to whether this will be frozen or not it all just seems so uncertain plus the fact I am not sure whether I get to see my OR on the day as it were or whether I will have to attend an interview at a later date - I can't withdraw more money as I have reached my limit in withdrawing taking out the BR fee over two days! I have about two hundred pounds going in but I need this for my child's nursery fee and its due to hit next Tuesday as it takes 5 days through internet transfer - wish tomorrow was over already!

Hi Fudge, I'm not sure but I think that the your joint account may be frozen. You will need to speak to the OR about releasing money from it, but as Jane says they won't leave you without enough to live on. You will also need to ask the OR to confirm that they have no interest in your basic account and I think they then contact the bank to confirm this.

I don't know if you wil speak to the OR the same day - some do but others have to wait. I was telephoned the next day to give me the date and time of the interview. I think it all depends on your particular OR's office.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.
