I am with GT and am the client from hell. They are very patient with me. I email them and they phone me back. I joke with them that closures will be nightmare and they tell me not. I do admit that they lack the one on one I got at the beginning and since my file is so big and confusing it is a waste of time just phoning with a question they need time to look at the mess before giving me an answer. I can honestly say that at one point the IP was personally involved and managed to calm me down in a crisis. But now they will not even put me through which is a pity really as he was superb and is the one person who understands the mess I was in, am still in and until the IVA closure comes in with the divorce settlement will remain in. But they have always worked with me listened to me let me cry at them, yell at them (sorry GT but sometimes you cannot read the message) and I would recommend them. Keep them informed, emails work well as you have a copy then, (all your I/E paperwork can be PDF'd through before posting, so you have a record and they have a record) and I think, in fact I know they will work with you. Tell them the issue they have seen it all before and they often have the solution. I think they have taken on too much at once and communication is slower but they are a big company and all this on the forum will be noted and I am sure they will and are improving and I think they do offer support to their clients when it is needed and do not deserve all the bad press. The customer giving bad service has the need to complain and shout, the customers getting adequate and over above service do not have the need to shout and will no doubt be accused of being naive for actually saying Yes GT do do good work and are working with their clients and not against as much of this forum would have you believe.

Well said Joanna. My impression is that the majority of the current problems lie with one department ... closures, for whatever reasons we can only speculate about.

I will admit I wasn't happy at being sold to GT, and make no secret of it, but they have been great with me. That said I will be giving them hell come closure time if they haven't got their act together :-)

They do have a few policies I do not agree with (and were some of the reasons I wouldn't have chosen them in the first place), but I have to live with them (won't stop me moaning though).

Well my paperwork is being collected on Tuesday so they can start preparing my proposal. So no backing out now. My IP advisor seems nice I have her contact details but I reckon if my Iva us successful then I would deal with the contact at the Belfast office. Fingers crossed it all comes good. I worry about something different every day. . .

I always contact Karol in the first instance, she either deals with it herself or passes me onto the right person. Everyone I have dealt with there has been very helpful and friendly (lovely accents too :-) )

It is never too late to change direction, but so long as you are happy that is the main thing. You don't commit until the day of the creditors' meeting.

I have never had a problem with them, however - my last payment was in October 2012 and since then I have had no correspondence apart from the spotty letter from EIC. I have sent numerous emails but they never replied.

I think it's the lack of communication that would annoy me, if I knew and expected a lengthy delay in closure I could deal with it but when I emailed a question I would expect the courtesy of a reply at the least!
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Unfortunately making your final payment is only the beginning of the IVA process with GT
