I am sure that your partner will be very supportive to you Susie, and that you will both work through these difficulties positively together.

Let tomorrow be the start of a new phase of your lives where you work together to get this debt cleared. The sooner you start the sooner it ends, and I think you will feel far better once you have had a chat with an insolvency practitioner.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

We've all been there Suzie - I was dithering about for around 2 years trying to balance all the credit, etc and hoping that it would all go away magically. Then eventually I spoke to Mel and things started to fall into place. That was 3 years ago now (Mel will remeber Nothern Rock I'm sure!!!!). I won't say that it's easy on the road to freedom, there are some months when the last couple of weeks is all about scraping around for coins for food. But it's a great feeling to look at a bank statement and even if it's only a few pence in it - it's not RED!!!
Stay strong and remember that most of us on here have either 'been there and got the T-shirt (obviously not on credit though!!!!)' or have helped us through the hard times.
