To be honest OJK there are so many variables it is probably worth starting your own thread and getting into the specifics of your own case. The experts on this case will then be able to offer more detailed advice and more accurate opinions. I had made 7 of the 60 monthly payments, but then i didn't ...

Thanks Michael and Skippy!
Yes, the £10k was accepted! which is good news all round.
Now I have the arduous process of slowly rebuilding my credit rating. But this is an upper class problem compared to the situation I was originally in!

Good news! Last thursday was the deadline for voting on my F&F offer and it was accepted! I am dropping the cheque from my mother in the post today to my IVA company. They say it will take a couple of months to settle the creditors and issue a completion statement. Does that sound about right? My go...

Just to update you, after speaking to my IP company again I sent a letter last friday offering F&F at £10k. At least the ball is set rolling now. Many thanks for your advice and I will let you know how the affair proceeds.

Thanks Melanie
Is it reason enough that my parents have given me this opportunity to settle early? I am a little concerned that there is no major change in my circumstances - will this affect the chances of my settlement being accepted?

This is a question for the experts I suppose, but when I am writing my offer letter, should I enquire whether they are willing to reduce their fees on early settlement, and thus better enhance my prospects of obtaining a full and final settlement?

Thanks Kallis and Michael I think I am going to give it some more thought before I do anything further. I have two more questions for you now though! How long does the whole process of early settlement take? And will the process be held up by the fact that one of my creditors (unbelievably) still ha...

Thanks Kallis, I am aware of that, and I do not want to appear ungrateful as the IVA has helped me out of an incredibly bad situation, not just financially but also mentally. Its just I know my parents could afford £11k or thereabouts, the figure suggested by my IP company is becoming a bit of a str...

Hello all. I entered into a new IVA in January of this year. My parents have come into some money on retirement and have offered to help me settle the IVA early, on condition I pay them back out of my disposable income. This does appeal to me, as at the moment I have precious little incentive to wor...
