Just awful for C&G workers. I really loathe my job but am just grateful to have one, even though budget cuts late last year meant I was £400 per month worse off. Made paying the IVA very tough. I shivered through through the winter, bought clothes on Ebay, became the bogoff expert, gave up all alcoh...

Firstly, this is not a question, more a light-hearted comment. Having last week settled my IVA in full with interest, this week Lloyd's TSB (my most major creditor...35%)announced that they are able to repay the billions owed to the tax payer. (Reminded me a bit of my friend remarking that when I cu...

When I first set up my IVA, the direct debit got set up wrongly and as a consequence my first payment didn't arrive on time. I was contacted by my IP saying that the direct debit hadn't arrived. Having established it was a numerical error, they corrected it and asked me to send a cheque. My first pa...

I did check whether Vaquis just acepted any aplication, but they don't sodon't want to risk it. Just wanted to make my file look a tiny bit better LOL! Just a bit frustrated about having to wait 4 years after settling at 100p in the £. Still, I knew what I was signing up to so I shouldn't moan about...

I have a pre-paid cash plus card who offer a Credit Builder option. Now my IVA is finished, I don't want to go down the route of applying for a Vanquis type cards just in case they are refused. The Cash Plus system seems to work a little differently, and while it's not going to get rid of the fact t...

I applied for a new bank acount before setting up my iVA. I went with Nationwide as it was one of the few banks not conected to my creditors. I have an ordinary flexicount with a cheque book and Visa debit. I was offered an overdraft, which I declined. I opened the account online and was amazed at h...

I had a few creditor calls while waiting for my IVA to be set up until Accuma issued me with a letter to send to all creditors informing them that in the matter of my debts then thye should contact Accuma. This stopped the calls... not that I ever answered them...used call screening and answer machi...

The frst question I was asked when I first discussed an IVA was whether I had debts with either Morthern Rock and MBNA. No to Northern Rock but yes to MBNA. I was told as they were less than 25% they wouldn't be an issue unless another creditor objected. As I said, MBNA didn't vote, or even submit a...

Just a thought... If it were possible to transfer half the balance on the MBNA card to another more IVA friendly CC provider before even starting down the IVA route, would that count against you in the final decision? I also estimate that £230 per month would repay almost 50p in the £ depending on I...

In fact, come to think of it, out of 10 creditors, only one tried to make amendments (daft ones) to the original proposal...and that was Amex. As they were a relatively small creditor, they were rejected by my IP. MBNA didn't even bother to vote.

I was quite surprised on the allowances for things like mobile phones and cable/sky TV. I was told I could add them in as expenses but didn't. I got a a pay as you go phone and freeview but I could still have claimed that I spent £40 a month on my mobile and £20 a month on sky and cable. Even as a s...

LLoyds were my main creditor and I held a current account with them. The money I owed was on their credit cards but I had no overdraft. I switched accounts before enterng the IVA and transferred all the money from LTSB to my new account. Even after the IVA had been set up, Lloyds continued to send m...
