I applied for a vanquis card 6 months before my IVA completed, i applied by post and they also telephoned me at home and asked a few questions but was accepted over the phone with a £500 credit limit, i use it for certain purchases but pay it off every month .

It will all come right in the end, im waiting for my last default to drop off 31st december, then i hopefully can get mainstream finance for another car, fingers crossed anyway. Do any of the experts know why a default can show up at a later date than it was actually defaulted because debt was sold ...

I have the same default showing with the same company, default date is 31st December 2009, this should go this December then my credit report is clear, only good things on there. everything else is gone and I only completed my iva end of September so cant complain,trying to work outwhy the default d...

yes checked credit files,, one default is dated febuary 2010,even though our iva was accepted October 2009, some defaults have dropped off, will they all dropp off anyway after 6 years,, the iva has gone to,, showing creditscore as fair atm on Equifax/ cheers

Hi, completed our iva end of september this year, our car has done 191k and we are thinking of financing of another car, when will we beable to apply for mainstream finance to get normal aprs, not even applied yet because dont want to show search on credit file. Thanks

that's concerning,, what is the legal timescale on an iva. have received our completion certificates ,, is it possible they can come back to us for more payments or does having the CC mean I am legally free of the IVA, could someone please clarify thanks

agree Lesley,, its a good start with a small limit,, needs must to get your credit file back on track,, also get a mobile phone contract paid every month by DD,, another good step to get your credit report back on track.

just going through my Equifax credit file,, am I correct in saying that all the old debts will drop off my file 6 years after the default date shown ? or there abouts,, its showing my iva is in month 71,, and most debts are showing a default date of mid October 2009,, about the same time as we start...

Well received our completion certificates a week ago, and our names came off the insolvency register yesterday,, that is quick, was told 3 months,, now to tackle our credit files,, that might take a bit longer I think,, but so far so good [:D]
