Thank you to all those that replied! We are now looking forward to fixing up the house as it was somewhat neglected during the DMP and will be having a fortnight's family camping with a wee bit more in our pockets!

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, Michael - we did what we felt was best at the time! We posted on here - spoke to CAB, a re mortgaging consultant , and PayPlan. We took lots of advice and it would seem still made the wrong decisions - but when you are in a financial mess you tend to lose confidence i...

Thank you Michael - we will wait and see what happens with PayPlan contacting the creditors re our new I and E figures. We just feel that despite our best intentions we are still in debt , still receiving default notices and still racking up interest from some of the creditors!!

We were expressly told that an IVA would not be the best course of action because of the equity we had in the house. Moving was not an option as both children were still in secondary school. Downsizing was not an issue either as our property is already too small for us!! We decided against re mortga...

I don't think we can as we will only have an extra 200 to spare on my salary alone! PayPlan have said they will send a new I and E to our creditors to see if they will settle within the 10k we have lodged - not looking promising though!! Add to that the suspension has not gone on the car!! Just feel...

I don't think we can have an IVA as our property is worth around 200 K and we only have around 11k left to pay on the mortgage?

Feeling absolutely dreadful!! Have been in a DMP with PayPlan since July 2009 , hubby now has lost his job. We have offered and given Payplan 10 k (my husband's settlement ) as a final settlement against our debts of circa 14 k. Have now paid the 10 k to Payplan and are now receiving default notices...

Thank you Michael - but is that not something that Payplan should be advising us to do - according to them we owed one amount and we kept telling them that it was more because of interest. We kept asking them to contact our creditors to try to stop or reduce interest , we wrote to the creditors ours...

We have been in a DMP with Payplan since July 2009 having racked up debts in excess of 120K. We have struggled at times to meet our payments which we have been able to increase year on year despite neither of us having any pay rises. We missed one payment when we had to have some building work done ...

Thank you for your comments. My husband is finishing on the 27th and we have contacted Payplan as well as our mortgage company. We are hoping that we will have enough to pay in full but realistically think we may be 1 or 2 K short. Fingers crossed.

We have a DMP with Payplan which we have been paying into since July 2009. We should finish around Feb/March next year. My husband will not be working after the 17th of this month although we will have a lump sum of around 27K to come. Our current debts with Payplan stand at around 19K, we have alre...

I am not sure what you mean , Melanie. As far as I am aware, we are not playing any games. My husband was requested to attend a meeting , as were other members of the workforce. Mistakes have been made, but it would appear blame is to be apportioned ( fairly or otherwise). No decisions have been mad...
