He's filing for BR March 22nd.

I've always believed in asking for what you want, I'm not religious but there is something in this cosmic ordering. But positive actions are worth so much more than a positive attitude. It's great you're thinking of starting another business with the knowledge of debt now. More people should be rewa...

I think if you explain to Barclays beforehand, there shouldn't be a problem if it's a basic account anyway, if it's got no credit facilities.

But ask the judge anyway, you need to have money to live.

Can you not open another one after you are declared bankrupt, just in case?

Maybe with the co-op?

Skippy, my partner is in court for BR next Thursday, the 22nd, we didn't expect to get a date so quick, maybe we don't have many people needing BR's here!! It's not my debt but its sooo scary, when you keep on the right side of the law and then you go to court, its no wonder we're all terrified. I j...

My partner is currently filing for bankruptcy after considering an IVA, and after reading everything i can get my hands on, its not as scary as it first seems. He was on a DMP which wasn't feasible and an IVA wasn't really any better, so we were advised for him to go bankrupt. The bankruptcy sister ...

EEEk!!!

He's been at it for over 12 months, heaven help us if it stops now!!

He has told his solicitor he has financial problems so she is aware.

Surely at such a late stage of divorce they cant just stop it now?

My partner is filing for BR and is also going through the last stages of his divorce.

He owes his solicitor £200 already and by the time its finalised it will no doubt be more.

Will his solicitor have to know about the BR and if she does, will it affect the divorce?

Well we've got £208 left each month and we haven't included things like haircuts, holidays or an emergency fund if the car needs repairing, new tyres etc.

Its got to be better than paying £560 on an IVA!

Partner is going for BR, and on other posts Ive noticed that you need to have sought professional help before BR, he's spoken to Thomas Charles and they sent him an e-mail saying he's better going for BR over an IVA, so is this professional advice? Should he take a copy of the e-mail to the court? H...

I think its the best option, his job is safe, the house is housing association in my name, his car is worth basically nothing and he has nothing in the house, it was mine before I met him. I think the only bad thing is he stigma, I grew up with business, my dad was a partner in a travel company so b...
