Out if interest how long does it take to get a charge. Also as asked above should aletter be sent advising that a peros intends to enter into an iva and explaining that there is no equity or possibility of taking futher borrowing to clear the debt.

emma. To give you an idea how different divvy's can be. I recall reading on here of a gentleman who had creditors to the sum of circa 160k. He was going to returning 17.4p in the £ and that included a £15k lump sum in year 2 ( I think year 2). His IVA was accepted. Other manage closer to 100 % retur...

Thanks Michael. I had never seen any posts on this topic. It usually talks about monies from a 3rd party. I suppose this would almost be like debt concilliation with an IVA tool. The advantage really being to the creditors is that they would get the funds in a shorter space of time and the IP fee wou...

Michael what would be the case where the amount of equity is less than the debt owed.
If a person were able to raise the equivalent of the divvy % for example.

emmadw. Dont take my advise on it as I am not an IP, but based on the information I have read on here in recent months that sounds very reasonable. And also it is obviously what you can afford which has got to be the best option for your creditors. I have had offers to settle with some of my credito...

One thing I have never seen notes on here about is :- Can someone who is considering an IVA apply for a 2nd Mortgage based on the equity in there home to provide for a full and final IVA settlement Offer. This is obviously where the DI is poor but could be absorbed over a period longer than that und...

Melanie. No I would certainly not suggest for one min. that was Tina's position. I know she was simply looking through the options that may be available to try and give the IVA the best chance it can possibly have. Tina only had a short while speaking to me and she was able to absorb all the worries...

Thanks Melanie. That is my concern however I can see where Tina is coming from and is simply trying to develop additional revenue/resource to apply to the Dividend Calculation. I would be much happier to simply acknowledge that I need to secure additional mortgage in year 5 as this could be taken as...

Speaking to Tina I think we agreed that at an estimate if a forced sale was considered (Quick Sale) if would be approx £315k..Mortgage is £224k. There is also an issue with a secured loan which would reduce the equity. I just dont know if when speaking to the halifax if I should mention the IVA.Will...
